Brand Manager

Location: Bucks HQ - hybrid 3 days/2 days home based
To £50,000 + bonus + benefits

Our client is a third generation, family owned, importer of household names, UK and international brands in food and drink business, with over 70 years of an enviable reputation in the FMCG industry. Revenue is set to top £100m in 2024, and there’s no sign of stopping!

The Job – working on a portfolio of brands, you will manage a wide variety of brand activities on behalf of principal brand owners, creating and building plans, from product launches, promotional and pricing strategies, to implementation via the sales team into omni-channel customer universes.

Managing the trading relationship with the brand partner, you will be responsible for annual brand planning, trade marketing, and pulling together compelling market and category data to drive distribution and activation with grocery or foodservice customers.

You will be the key point of contact for all negotiations with the brand partner relating to cost price, availability, promotional & support packages. Your diligent control & monitoring of costs & profitability is fundamental to your successful performance.

The skills needed - you will work alongside sales and operations functions, balancing ‘the art with the science’ typically experienced from a buying or commercial marketing-related function; more importantly, you will have a passion for rolling out ideas and implementing category-busting plans that have been created from your own initiatives.

The experience - 5 years + in a commercial marketing or buying function is your career to date. Passionate about winning at the consumer fixture and intervention of commercial analysis (how are we doing) are your favourite subjects. You’ll also love the idea of moving into a marketing-centric role, yet enjoy delivering financial reporting that highlight the brand health and profit success of your portfolio.

The ideal candidate – a buyer mentality with a creative marketing head, highly pragmatic, an amazing eye for analysis, you’ll stop at nothing to deliver success. You will enjoy autonomy and freedom to speak and influence as you see.

A natural planner, you’ll also have a strong work ethic, adaptability, and resilience. Personal conviction, hungry to learn, high energy, self-confidence, strong interpersonal skills, bags of EQ come naturally to you.
