UK Sales Director

Location: Homebased, South England
Around £125,000 + bonus + full exec package

An FMCG business, focused on QSR and HORECA end user channels, we are on a mission to find a UK Sales Director who will step into this newly created role, to lead the Foodservice customer growth plan for a privately owned £35m family business whose head office is in Ireland.

With significant financial backing, and led by an impressive family Board, the focus right now is expansion, building a UK enterprise for the brand and range of ambient sauces and condiment products. Currently at around £6m UK turnover the clear plan is to get to £25m in the next 5 years by scaled and selective business choices. This will require Distributor and key account development, enticing innovation and technical know-how in product development for major high street restaurant brands.

Responsible for the sales strategy, execution, the building and leading of a winning team, the aim is to strengthen and increase brand presence across relevant trade accounts, those known to the professional kitchen world, via Distributors plus key accounts in the restaurant game.  This appointment will bring a pioneer who can firmly place our client as the ‘quality first’ supplier of choice on the agendas of Foodservice partners.

We are looking for someone with credibility and a profound knowledge of Foodservice, ideally relevant to ambient food.  Someone who will inspire, with a strong voice at the customer table, who can realise meaningful partnerships with innovation at the heart of the offer as a quality brand of choice.  Hungry for success, this is a logical 'another go' at Sales Director, keen to join an SME with realistic and stretching ambition, who can adapt quickly and wants to really impact a category.

This company has no barriers – you will have the autonomy to achieve your aims. In fact, you’ll experience the freedom of a truly can-do culture. You’ll be the wake-up call for an already established category worth in excess of £1bn annually and growing.  By scaling up the UK operation and directing the sales vision, you will develop a sales process and route-to-market strategy. You’ll establish yourself as the customer and commercial expert within the company.

Hands-on, highly operational, the agility to deal with the ever-changing commercial landscape, as well as knowing your subject matter like no other, you will be no stranger to making an impact and contribution at pace.
